Friday 22nd January

Good morning boys and girls. Well done for completing your home-learning tasks this week. It's nearly the weekend, so stay busy today, then you'll have 2 days off to relax!

Don't forget to get outside if you can and take some winter nature photographs for the competition!

Home Learning Tasks - 22.1.21

As it's Friday, let's start off the day with some Yoga!

Maths:
Warm up your brains ready for your maths lesson with Bud's Number Garden

Your task today will focus on measuring the length of objects using your footprint! Click the image below for the activity.

I know some of you have been enjoying the colour-by-numbers, so here are some more for you to try today, or over the weekend!

Dough Disco:
Let's go to the Dough Disco! Enjoy this finger workout if you have dough or modelling clay at home! You could extend your learning by shaping your dough to look like letters that you have learned in Literacy!

Shadow Art:
Yesterday we explored shadows as one of our tasks. How about doing some shadow art today or over the weekend if you have a chance?
See the picture below. Can you make a shadow from an object and draw around your shadow on some paper? Experiment with different objects. Some shadows might be long, some might be short - does your shadow look the same as the object? Have fun!

Have a great day and a brilliant weekend everybody!

Thursday 21st January

Good morning everyone! Did you enjoy PE and Music yesterday?
Well done for keeping up with your home-learning tasks!

Home Learning Tasks - 21.1.21

an episode of Number Blocks!

Your task today is all about shape - in particular, squares. Can you complete the sheet attached below?
You could extend this activity by looking for and collecting square objects around your home environment.

Literacy:
Practice your letter formation on Doorway Online and then have a go at the sheet attached underneath. Can you control your pencil carefully and keep on the dotted lines? Give it your best try!

Shadows: I would like you to listen to The Gruffalo's Child story today. During the story, The Gruffalo's Child sees footprints in the snow and a very scary shadow at the end! Attached below is a Shadow Experiment - open the document to find out what to do!

Have you managed to start the nature photography challenge yet? I'm sure some of you took some great pictures of the snow and ice last week - that could give you a head start!

You could use one of the snowflake templates below:

Have a lovely day!

Monday 18th January

Good morning everyone. I hope you had a lovely weekend and are feeling ready for another week of home-learning! You're doing very well so far, so keep it up!

This week, Mrs Fielding has set a challenge for you. Here's a little note from her:

Following our very successful summer nature photography CHALLENGE I'd like us to take some winter nature photos. If you look carefully, there is so much to see. Please send in your photos to Mr Williams. A maximum of 3 each. We will compile a PowerPoint of your shots and there will once again be I-Spy books as prizes. Get snapping!

Also, Mrs Fielding would like us to get involved with the Big School's Birdwatch

For a Number of years we have completed the BIG SCHOOLS'S BIRDWATCH. Even though we are not in school at the moment, you can still take part at home in the BIG GARDEN BIRDWATCH which takes place between the 29th - 31st January. All you need to do is to get a grown-up to register and see how many birds you can spot in your garden in an hour. Setting up a bird feeding station for a couple of weeks before will increase the number you see and also help our feathered friends through the difficult winter months. Watching the birds is very therapeutic - you'll need to be quiet though!

Home Learning Tasks - 18.1.21

Let's start off the day by shaking our sillies out!

Maths:
Warm up your brains with this game from Top Marks!

Your task today is to continue practice your number formations to 5 (or higher if you can) and match the correct amounts to numerals. We practice this most days in school by using different objects and items for counting - you can use anything you have access to at home tohelp with counting. Click on the link below to access your task today.

Literacy:
Complete the activity linked below. It's all about recognising and writing the letter 'n'.
Monday_Letter_Formation_N.docx

Listen to a story from the CBeebies Storytime app!

Music, dance and movement:

Watch this short video, showing different winter scenes and winter animals. Can you see the ways in which the different animals move?

Your task today is to listen to your favourite song and come up with some dance moves or winter animal movements to accompany the music. You could put lots of different moves together to form a sequence. Try recording your performance at the end and playing it back! Have fun and get moving!

Have a brilliant day everyone!
