Friday 8th January

Good morning everybody! How did you find your first week of home-learning? Did you all have a go at the tasks that I set? Thank you for sending me some updates and photos of your home-learning - It's great to see that you are enjoying the activities and are keeping busy!

Obstacle
Course

Today I encourage you to get active! Create an obstacle course (preferably outside if you have the space) or indoors if appropriate. Try to find objects that you can safely walk over, crawl under, balance on, or jump over. You could make it a 'winter themed' obstacle course outside by adding in a frosty/icy section, or a leafy/muddy section. Be creative! You could even time yourself for how quickly you can complete a lap... Have fun and burn off lots of energy!

Well done for all your brilliant work this week. Have a lovely weekend and I'll have new home-learning tasks for you to complete next week!

Thursday 7th January

Good morning! I hope all is going well with your home-learning and that you are able to complete the tasks that are being set. Let's see what activities we've got to do today...

As usual, let's start off our morning with Shake Your Sillies Out and Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes! (See Tuesday 5th January for links to the videos).

If you find it too difficult to read/write letters, then try this pencil control activity:

Winter Scavenger Hunt - Part 2:

Did you manage to complete the Winter Scavenger Hunt tasks yesterday? If not, try to find the opportunity to do it today. If you completed both tasks yesterday, then you should have a frozen block of natural winter items that you found!
The challenge today is to try and retrieve those items from inside the ice! What can you do to free the items? Could you use some tools to try and break them free, or even try to melt the ice somehow? Record which method worked the best and time yourself how long it took you to free the frozen items. Most importantly, have fun!

Have a great day everyone!

Wednesday 6th January

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a positive start to your home-learning yesterday and managed to complete the activities that were set. I've already received some fabulous home-learning photos, so keep sending photos and updates through to the school office email - It's great to see how you are all doing!

As usual, let's start off our morning with Shake Your Sillies Out and Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes! (See yesterday's posts for links to the videos).

Winter Scavenger Hunt:

Task 1: If you have the opportunity to get outside today, either on a walk with members of your household, or just outside in your gardens - take this checklist with you. See how many items you can tick-off! If you find any interesting natural items whilst outside, such as leaves, sticks, berries, pine-cones etc, be sure to collect them.
Task 2: Find a tray or container that can fit into your freezer. Place your nature objects into the container and fill it with water. Place it in the freezer overnight... We will explore this further tomorrow!
