Monday 18th January

Good morning everyone. I hope you had a lovely weekend and are feeling ready for another week of home-learning! You're doing very well so far, so keep it up!

This week, Mrs Fielding has set a challenge for you. Here's a little note from her:

Following our very successful summer nature photography CHALLENGE I'd like us to take some winter nature photos. If you look carefully, there is so much to see. Please send in your photos to Mr Williams. A maximum of 3 each. We will compile a PowerPoint of your shots and there will once again be I-Spy books as prizes. Get snapping!

Also, Mrs Fielding would like us to get involved with the Big School's Birdwatch

For a Number of years we have completed the BIG SCHOOLS'S BIRDWATCH. Even though we are not in school at the moment, you can still take part at home in the BIG GARDEN BIRDWATCH which takes place between the 29th - 31st January. All you need to do is to get a grown-up to register and see how many birds you can spot in your garden in an hour. Setting up a bird feeding station for a couple of weeks before will increase the number you see and also help our feathered friends through the difficult winter months. Watching the birds is very therapeutic - you'll need to be quiet though!

Home Learning Tasks - 18.1.21

Let's start off the day by shaking our sillies out!

Maths:
Warm up your brains with this game from Top Marks!

Today I would like you to complete the task set below. It continues from our learning last week about number bonds to 10 (2 numbers that add together to make 10) Follow the link below:

Monday_Number_Bonds_to_10.docx

Literacy:
Start off this lesson by playing Picnic on Pluto! Practice your phonics sounds and word reading skills. Click on the image below.

Today I would like you to have a go at the following activity linked below, about rhyming words.

Rhyming words are two or more words that have the same or similar ending sound. If they sound the same or similar, they rhyme. For example: car and bar rhyme; house and mouse rhyme.

Follow up this activity by writing the pairs of rhyming words yourself, in a neat list.

Monday_Rhyming_Word_Matching.docx

Music, dance and movement:

Watch this short video, showing different winter scenes and winter animals. Can you see the ways in which the different animals move?

Your task today is to listen to your favourite song and come up with some dance moves or winter animal movements to accompany the music. You could put lots of different moves together to form a sequence. Try recording your performance at the end and playing it back! Have fun and get moving!

Have a brilliant day everyone!
