Autumn Term 2021
It's fabulous to welcome everyone back to school this week. Year 5 have done a great job at settling in to their new class and Year 6 are raring to go. Launching straight into our learning. We've dived in at the deep end - talking of which we will be commencing swimming lessons from next Friday 10th September ( beginning in the shallow end of course). Good Morning Children,
The day has finally arrived. Our very last day of home learning. Like I said yesterday in our Teams meeting, I'm not adding any further 'new' tasks to our page today (apart from next week's spellings of course). What I'd like you to do today is have a finishing off day - anything you have not completed or would like to have a go at and haven't had time - you can scroll back in time, click on the date tabs to open up the older content. However this morning, please priortise your English, Science/Geography and RE tasks .
Really now, all that's left to say, is a HUGE thank you. It's been amazing how enthusiastic you have all been since the first week, back in January. Teams gave us all a new lease of life and a better way to directly communicate with each other. It's been very hard work (overwhelming at times) but we have got through it together. I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to parents, grandparents and older siblings who have helped us complete our tasks and get the work done. Children, please find time today to thank your families for helping you, for all these weeks, with your home learning. They really do deserve a medal.
Have a Wonderful Weekend and I'll see you all Bright and Breezy (or sleepy) on Monday Morning.
Spellings
I will hand out paper copies of these on Monday. Please remember your spelling books.

Good Morning All,
It's World Book Day today. As we can't dress-up in school, like we usually do. I thought I'd share a few photos from the not too distant past. I've managed to find a few of the present Y6 when I think they were Y3. I'll dig through the archives at school today and see if I can find some of our present Y5 when they were younger (and cuter). If you've got any past World Book Day photos you wish to share please send in.
Click on the PowerPoint for a Katherine Rundell link and some Maths Challenges.

Good Morning Boys and Girls,

Good Morning Children,
What a lovely weekend it has been weather wise, it really does feel like spring in all that sunshine. Whilst, I don't think it is going to be quite as bright today we have lots to look forward to. This is our final week of home learning, then we'll all be back together next Monday.
I've got some interesting lessons to keep us motivated this week. Before we begin though, I'd like to start today with a Class Collective Worship.

Here is another fabulous rainforest model. This is Euan's. It's very ingenious. He has used real plants to create the different layers of the rainforest. It's still growing too, his cress on the forest floor is just beginning to sprout. Euan, send in another photo when the additional greenery has come through. Brilliant!

Good morning Children,
Thank you for the photos you are sending in for our 'Nature and Wildlife' challenge . I'll upload them to the gallery when I'm back in school tomorrow - my home internet struggles with this. If you have sent in some winter photos and would like to add some Spring ones that would be great.

It's good news! We'll all be back in school very soon. I'm so looking forward to having Class 4 back together again. I've lots of fun things planned for us to do through to the summer.
Unfortunately, although this is happening soon it's not immediate so I do need everyone to keep working hard on their home learning. When we return, I will be continuing in class exactly where we finish the home learning so it's very important you keep up to date with all our lessons.
I know I can rely on you all to do this .

Monday 22nd February 2021
Welcome back Everyone,
I hope you have all had a great half-term. We definitely all needed a break; you worked so, so hard. Hopefully you've managed some outside time last week away from screens. I have - lots of long walks with my dogs and plenty of fresh air. There are certainly signs of spring to be seen now.
Why not get out there, take some photos for our 'Nature and Wildlife competition'. We have a lot of wintery, icey photos in our gallery which are fantastic. Can we add to them showing the earth waking up again?
Don't forget Nigel Pope BBC wildlife documentary producer will be judging your entries. Here is a clip from his recent series 'Stormborn' (3 episodes are available to watch on iplayer- these animals are very well adapted to their harsh environment - fits with our science, don't you think )
Back to the competition, there are prizes for the winners, too, I-spy books and a special book for the overall winner. The closing date for the competition is Monday 8th March 2021. Good Luck Everyone.
Further inspiration, have a look at some of the amazing winning photos from the Natural History Museum's Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Take care, taking your photos though - don't get eaten by a tiger!
