RE

On a Friday, we begin the day with an RE lesson. This term we will be learning about how Jesus spreads the good news.

Today we are going to begin with a story from the Bible.

Who do we think helped Jesus to spread the good news?

What kind of people were the 12 disciples?

On Fridays we have whole class maths sessions. This term we will be starting with a unit of work on length and height.

Handwriting

This term I would like you all to work hard on your handwriting. Any piece of work you record should be in your best handwriting. Year 2 children try to use a joined up handwriting style as often as you can.

If you are using an ipad, you will be able to practise the letters on the screen. If you are working on a laptop, you will need to record your letters on paper.

Click on the Class 1 and 2. Try the easy letters first. If you have more time, try some of the easy words. On your ipad, there will be a small menu button to the left of the screen. If you click on the menu it will bring up more tabs. 

 

 

Art

This term we are going to link some art with our Science topic on materials.  

We are going to use PAPER to create a variety of pieces of artwork.

This week we will be reading 'Hansel and Gretel' by Anthony Browne.

Firstly, take a look at the front cover. Can you come up with at least five questions?

For example: Why are the children sitting under a tree?

Remember to use different question starters e.g What, Where, Why, Who, How ...

Remember to include a capital letter at the beginning of each question and use a question mark at the end.
