Happy Monday Everyone!

Friday 8th May

Everything you need to know about how Harborough will mark the ...

May Day bank holiday has been moved to the Friday this year so that the country can commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of fighting in Europe during the Second World War.

Back in 1945, Britain and its Allies celebrated the defeat of the Nazi regime. Wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill declared May 8th a public holiday and Victory in Europe (VE) Day was met with parties, dancing and singing in the streets.

Take part in your own VE Day celebrations today.

Remember to look back at yesterday's tasks in your daily activities link. There is a suggested timetable that you might want to follow.

11:00am 2 minute silence

A two-minute silence will be held to honour the service and sacrifice of the wartime generation and reflect on the devastating impact Covid-19 has had on so many lives across the world.
