Happy Monday Everyone!
Friday 8th May
May Day bank holiday has been moved to the Friday this year so that the country can commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of fighting in Europe during the Second World War.
Back in 1945, Britain and its Allies celebrated the defeat of the Nazi regime. Wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill declared May 8th a public holiday and Victory in Europe (VE) Day was met with parties, dancing and singing in the streets.
Take part in your own VE Day celebrations today.
Remember to look back at yesterday's tasks in your daily activities link. There is a suggested timetable that you might want to follow.
11:00am 2 minute silence
A two-minute silence will be held to honour the service and sacrifice of the wartime generation and reflect on the devastating impact Covid-19 has had on so many lives across the world.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow’
Composed by Harold Arlen for the movie The Wizard of Oz (1939), ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ gained a new meaning during the war. Judy Garland performed it live for American troops in 1943, and a special recording was sent to soldiers, as a promise of better days to come.
